Method
How RevAddress resolves an address.
Authoritative source records — postal, parcel, demographic, hazard — and the analysis computed on them: district assignment, income and vacancy context, risk scoring. Every returned field traces to the source record and vintage that produced it.
The feeds
Each feed has its own schema, vintage, and coordinate basis.
USPS DPV
NAD rooftop
Parcel
County file
ACS tract
NFHL hazard
NORMALIZEEvery source schema maps to one unit format before any comparison.
JOIN KEYEvery value from every feed is assigned to exactly one keyed cell.
SETTLENewest vintage wins, then source rank. One value is served; overruled values are retained.
SURFACEResolved values aggregate into density surfaces. Gaps are not interpolated.
DECIDETwo parcels qualify on the record; the third is flagged for review, not estimated.
Source values start apart and converge as each conflict is resolved by vintage, then source rank. The served value retains the record of what it overruled.
Conflict resolution
- Vintage first
- When sources disagree, the newer observation wins: a current-cycle structure point over a prior-cycle centroid.
- Then source rank
- At equal vintage, the source with the stronger placement method wins. The response names the winning source.
- Overruled values retained
- Values that lose stay on the record. The audit trail shows what was overruled and by which rule.
- Gaps flagged
- Where no source supports an answer, the field returns a flag, not an estimate.
Every field cites its source.
