Assignment runs on each state's map geometry at full resolution. A row that cannot be placed is flagged, not guessed. As more maps are enacted, the coverage grows with them.

Most tools answer one.
Ten states — AL, CA, FL, LA, MO, NC, OH, TN, TX, UT — enacted new congressional maps for the 2026 election. A file mapped on standard census boundaries answers only for the seated Congress. A file mapped on the new lines alone loses the sitting representative. Campaign File Clean carries both columns, side by side, with each state's map status stated plainly — several of those maps are still in litigation, and the file says so rather than pretending they are settled.

Both maps, labeled: seated-Congress lines from Census TIGER/Line; 2026 lines from each redistricting state's own published plan, with the plan's status on the row — and blank where a state did not redraw, because nothing changed there.
District assignment is the column the file is segmented on for outreach, mail targeting, and file segmentation. A point within a kilometre of a district line is the one to confirm with the local election office: on our North Carolina test set the street address agrees with the precinct on 99.25% of 796 such voters. Where a state has no such district — DC has no state house — the column says so instead of inventing one. Carrier-route and delivery-point columns arrive with USPS verification.
