How we count.
We checked every registered voter in North Carolina against both the 2024 and 2026 congressional maps; 2,318 Tyrrell County voters came back in the same district on both. Turnout counts come from ten years of each voter's own vote history and say nothing about who anyone supports.
Registration file: NCSBE, August 17, 2026. Precinct map: December 12, 2025. Within a kilometre of a district line, the street-address check agrees with the precinct on 99.25% of 796 test voters. Turnout counts use ten years of each voter's own vote history and say nothing about who anyone supports; 78 of the 691 who vote in some midterms are new registrants counted at their cohort's rate, not their own record. A household address has ten or fewer registered voters and at least one active.
